Some houses are just about large enough but totally inadequate. This was one of those houses. Originally built on spec and constructed around an old summer camp structure, it lacked an entrance, a comfortable dining room, or a gracious living room. In addition, the long views to the New Hampshire mountains could only be glimpsed through two small windows.
After building two small additions on the front and rear of the house, totaling 450 square feet, and relocating the kitchen, the view can now be experienced from the new entry hall, the kitchen and the porch-like dining room. The living room, previously compromised by the front door, can now accommodate large groups of guests and a grand piano.
