House Renovation
Concord, Massachusetts

There are projects where the best solution seems the most obvious. The remodeling of a 1960's house in Concord, Massachusetts was just such a project. The addition of a dormer over the stair to the second floor provided light and drama to the entry corridor and headroom for the stair. A second new dormer in the master bedroom overcame the oppressive low ceiling and offered previously unavailable views of the trees above

Given the age of the house, it is not surprising that the kitchen was dated, poorly laid out for cooking, and isolated from the other living spaces in the house. The new design addressed both of these short-comings, along with new bathrooms, pantry and a family entrance. In addition, the large single-paned windows facing the Assabet River were replaced and a new HVAC system was installed
