Works in Progress
The process of defining, designing and constructing a project is best understood as a series of steps, each one more closely approximating than its predecessor the final result.
The client articulates their needs and hopes for the project. The architect guides the process, relying on his or her experience to clarify the pertinent issues and contribute suitable design ideas. During construction, their collaborative relationship expands to include the contractor who can contribute ideas for building more efficiently or less expensively.
